AREAS OF FOCUS

With over 15 years of experience in the youth and adult mental health sectors, Miranda offers individual counselling and psychotherapy to youth and adults navigating emotional difficulties, life transitions, and mental health concerns.

She works with clients experiencing depression and low mood, anxiety and worry, stress, anger management challenges, relationship difficulties, and trauma-related concerns.

Miranda’s professional background also includes a specialization in forensic social work, allowing her to bring a unique perspective to individuals at the intersection of mental health and the justice system.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Miranda holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of Hong Kong.

Before immigrating to Canada, Miranda worked for the Hong Kong Government, where she gained extensive experience in social service delivery. Her social work practice combines both clinical and case management skills.

In Canada, Miranda has worked in a variety of settings, including family service centres, mental health agencies, hospitals, probation offices, high schools, and the Mental Health and Youth Justice Courts.

Through her work as a Probation Officer, Mental Health Court Clinician, and Youth Justice Court Worker, Miranda has developed in-depth forensic knowledge of the Canadian criminal justice system and the relationship between law and mental health.

Miranda’s approach to treatment is client-centered and strength-based. Guided by the belief that “One has hope, one can cope,” she empowers her clients to build resilience and find practical ways to overcome life’s challenges.

Her compassionate and collaborative style fosters a sense of safety and support, helping individuals work toward healing, meaningful change, and personal growth.
